10 Amazingly Fun Sites I Stumbled Upon Using StumbleUpon

I’ve spent many a day and night Stumbling across obscure corners of internet with the StumbleUpon toolbar.

Some of the sites are interesting. Some of the sites are fun.

But then there are the sites that blow me away and make me think, “Wow!”

This is about the “Wow” sites.

So without further ado, here’s a list to ten of the coolest, most fun sites I’ve discovered through the toolbar…

The 10 Most Amazingly Fun Sites I Stumbled Upon Using The StumbleUpon Toolbar

  1. Things Other People Accomplished When They Were Your Age - For when you feel like beating yourself up for being not being President yet. Type in your age — say, 22 — and get a list of what other people managed to do by then: Writing their first book, winning the Olympics, running for Senate, getting their PHds, and so on.
  2. Pictures Taken Just At The Right Time. How did they get these photos?! They’re amazing. The photographer’s timing had to be just right for each one of these shots. I like #17, #19, and #24 best.
  3. FlickrVision - Watch people upload photos to Flickr, a popular online photosharing service, in real-time, on a live Google Map. This one’s kind of creepy and awesome at the same time.
  4. National Geographic Photography. If you’ve ever looked through an issue of National Geographic magazine, you know how stunning the photography is. The organization only hires the best of the best photographers in the world. These are amazing. Some bonus photography collections from StumbleUpon: 10 Beautiful Roads In India, Kenneth Parker Photography, Top 40 Photoshopped Images, 30 Photos That Inspired Me to Learn Photography.
  5. Musicovery. Customize your own personal radio station. Unlike Pandora or last.fm, Musicovery lets you pick music by decade, select from hits, non-hits, or more obscure tracks, or find music that fits your mood, whether that be dark, happy, or partying.
  6. Death By Caffeine - Pick your poison — your favorite energy drink, in this case — and find out exactly how much you’d have to drink at one time for the high dose of caffeine to kill you. Enough to make you think twice about your next Cola?
  7. The Unofficially StumbleUpon FAQ has the answers for everything you’ve ever wondered about StumbleUpon, and then some. When you need some obscure feature but can’t figure out how to do it, check this out. The author obviously spent a lot of time researching this — it’s extremely comprehensive.
  8. Warning Sign Generator - Choose a sign template, and then type in your warning message. Bam — you got yourself a cool warning message graphic that you can use anywhere you want.
  9. TelevisionTunes - This site has thousands of TV show theme songs - and not just current ones. They’ve got old ones too. From Gilligans Island to The Andy Griffith Show, they’ve got ‘em all, and you can listen right on the site, totally free. That’s cool!
  10. Read books online with any of the sites listed at the link. You’ve maybe heard of Gutenberg.org, one of the most popular places to find public domain books online, but this list proves there are other — possibly better — places to find books that you can read free on your computer.

Here’s hoping you enjoy these sites as much as I did! And of course, if you haven’t installed the StumbleUpon toolbar yet, you should definitely do that right away.
