7 Best Firefox Skins Ever

Heads up to new and old Firefox users! Everybody’s favorite browser supports “Firefox skins” (aka themes) .

These are special browser addons which change the look and feel of your browser. The default skin is only one of a huge number, and frankly, it’s kind of ugly.

Here’s a list of seven awesome Firefox skins, all of which are better than the browser’s default. Seriously - try one, you’ll thank us later.

macfox II graphite - This theme imitates the MacOS X user interface. It’s not perfect — let’s be honest, none of the Mac-ish themes are — but it comes very close.

Abstract Classic - Definitely try this one. It’s one of the best. It has a glassy look with bright blue buttons and shaded toolbars… awesome.

PimpZilla - Okay, so this skin promotes itself as “the most tacky & overdone piece of GUI design ever,” but don’t be fooled. It’s actually quite nice looking. It’s all gangstah-y, you know.

Pink Paula - The “Paula” theme is very pink. There’s not much else I can say about it. If you like pink, you’ll like this. If you don’t like pink — flee the Pink Paula at all costs.

Cobalt - This one’s very similar to Abstract Classic, only with a few seemingly random differences. For example, the tabs are more rounded.

Vista Aero - This Firefox skin makes the browser look almost identical to Internet Explorer 7. If you’re new to Firefox or just like the IE7 look better, give this one a spin.

Blue Ice - An attractive theme with ice-blue buttons. I prefer themes with a bit more flare, but for those of you who like simple, clean themes, this one is perfect.

Those are, in my opinion, the 7 coolest themes out there right now. I hope you find this list helpful!

In case you’re interested: Personally, I go back and forth between using Abstact Classic and Pimpzilla as my favorite Firefox skins.
